Sunday Saggar Firing
Bring your own bisque-fired pots, dried organic materials for wrapping and strong aluminium foil (pots are not supplied). It is preferred that students have some prior experience saggar firing, or some knowledge of the technique as this is not an instructional workshop but a firing day.
Before the day you will have the opportunity to buy terra sigillata (TS) prepared by Kay to use in the preparation of your pots. (TS is applied once pots are bone dry and before bisque firing). NB It is not a requirement to use TS but it imparts a beautiful smoothness to the surface of the pot. You are most welcome to fire pots without the surface treatment.
An information pack detailing everything you need to do will be sent after registering!
