Panel Discussion: Songtimes on Wadawurrung Country
Songtimes on Wadawurrung Country is a songbook with a collection of five children’s songs, featuring simple words and phrases of Wadawurrung language, written in collaboration with Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation and published in October 2022.
Join panellists and project leaders Corrina Eccles, (Traditional Owner, Wadawurrung), Kelly Caldwell (teacher, artist, songwriter) and Ben Shaw (permaculturist, songwriter, musician), with panel chair, local children’s and YA author Sue Lawson, to discuss this ground-breaking project addressing the lost language of Wadawurrung Country.
Featuring a live performance of songs from the book, and opening with a Welcome to Country provided by Wadawurrung Traditional Owner, Corrina Eccles.
Suitable for aspiring, emerging and experienced writers AND readers, aged 16+
