Racing NSW and the Australian Turf Club invite you to support a good cause and enjoy world class racing at Winx Stakes Day. We will be joined by Premier Chris Minns and Hon Chris Bowen, Federal Minister for Climate Change and Energy.This event will be supporting a family in need and research into a cure for Muscular Dystrophy:
Tim McPhail was 45 years old and after a short but severe bout of illness, Tim (non-smoker) was diagnosed with lung cancer on 5 April 2023 and died 3 weeks later on 18 April 2023. Tim leaves behind his wife Patricia, daughter Emily (16) and son Ollie (13). Amid her grief, Patricia remains a full time carer for Ollie, who has Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), diagnosed at 10 weeks old. DMD is a severe muscle wasting condition that is progressive and requires 24/7 support. Before Tim's passing, Patricia raised more than $200,000 to aid Westmead Hospital's research into a cure for DMD via the Hope for Ollie initiative. Now, it is our turn to raise funds.
