Wildlife First Aid - Day 1 Foundations (SOLD OUT)
About
Designed to be a comprehensive, hands-on experience, day one begins with the current legislation and legality of caring for wildlife in Western Australia and covers the principles and key points of wildlife first aid from capture to release. The second part of the day is full of animal handling and practicals in the safe capture of wildlife, including physical exam assessments of injured or sick animals. Reptiles, amphibians, mammals and birds are covered in detail and our presenters are able to target the training to common species you see in your line of work. An experienced joey carer will also present a session on the fundamentals of neonatal marsupial care, including what to do (and what not to do) when you find an orphaned, sick, displaced or injured baby joey.
