Wildlife First Aid - Day 3 Basic Techniques
About
** DAY ONE TRAINING IS A PRE-REQUISITE FOR DAY 3**The next stage of our training builds on the skills developed while learning about the initial capture, transport, assessment and first aid of common wildlife species, to explore the techniques we commonly use in wildlife rehabilitation.
We discuss the challenges of assessing hydration in wildlife patients and participants will practice techniques of fluid administration, including injections under the skin and oral tubing. We then cover wound management and bandaging techniques for trauma cases (this training does use cadavers for a large portion of the day, so please let the training team know if this concerns you). The creation of basic nutritional plans will be discussed, along with assist feeding options for different species and the common diseases seen in wildlife.
