Sherwood Heritage Walk
About
Both our destination and starting point are on the ACT Heritage Register. If you regard these sites as isolated, consider raising a family at the foot of the Brindabellas at Sherwood 160 years ago! Discover why it is called Sherwood. Nothing remains of Henry and Eliza Phillips’ slab hut nor dairy farm but for the exotic plantings of oaks and bulbs – glorious spring flowering bulbs, which will make the trek (an hour each way) from Blue Range campground worth it. Blue Range has its own interesting story of Italian internees during World War II. Leader: Linda RobertsNote: This walk is longer and more strenuous than our suburban walks with a long downhill and uphill. Bring a snack and enjoy the picnic facilities (with toilets) at the meeting point. Allow around 45 minutes from Civic to our meeting place at Blue Range Campground. Detailed directions will be provided in the reminder before the walk. For the comfort and safety of other walkers, we do not allow dogs on our walks.
