While many of Sydney’s prominent 80’s bands have vanished, the iconic Bondi Cigars have battled on to become a leading force in Australian R&B.Apart from the timeless, unpretentious nature of the music, an obvious reason for the longevity of the Cigars must be the ongoing musical team work of 2 foundation members, Shane Pacey & Al Britton.
Front man Shane Pacey has long been a forceful, convincing singer, a hard-attacking, razor sharp guitarist & an outstanding songwriter, with savvy slightly warped lyrics!
Bass player Al Hollywood Britton puts real backbone into the rhythm section – rock solid, responsive & funky.
The Cigars have never compromised their distinctive, no nonsense style. They’ve kept their music tight, hard-driving & down to earth: the Australian bar band par excellence!
Supported by the combined talents of perennial Sydney Blues favourites "Big Mama" Fran Liddle (Vox) & Aidan Glover (geetar) its going to be a big night of big talent all round!
