An electric new dance work by two rising choreographers May Greenberg and Zee Zunnur.Fremantle’s historic World War Two submarine slipway, HMAS Ovens submarine and maritime history are the beginnings for an electric contemporary dance work by choreographers May Greenberg and Zee Zunnur which will transform the C Shed at Fremantle Ports.
Fog, light and silhouette will intertwine and morph in a special new commission for the Fremantle Biennale. Bringing together 8 dancers in a chorus of machine-like movements and mechanical rhythms, contrasted with scenes of altered reality, shell shock and the absurdity of violence.
Exploring themes of defence, return, allies and signalling, CEASE/FIRE will juxtapose the experiences of machine and human, the irrelevance of war, and our longing to be reunited with the sea.
