Introduction to Shearing
If you have always had an interest in everything wool, then come along and try this free three-day workshop held in partnership with AWI & FUSE South West. It may lead you to an exciting career in wool, working in a team environment with great pay & travel opportunities.
Across the three days you will learn a range of skills including:
• Wool handling techniques
• Skirting a fleece
• Penning sheep & clip preparation
• Clip preparation
• Basic shearing & crutching techniques
• How to set up a hand piece
*You must be 15+ with a reasonable level of fitness. Please wear comfortable loose clothing, soft shoes no hard caps.
A light lunch will be provided each day.
