About
This training is aimed at information and capacity building in the Community through the use of a shared language. This is an evidence-based but not accredited training. This training is suitable for anyone who works with children who have experienced developmental trauma and parents/carers of children who have experienced
developmental trauma. Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) was developed by Dr Dan Hughes in the 1980’s as a treatment for children with
trauma-based attachment disorders. The aim of DDP is to help the child to move away from shame-based controlling relationship patterns to more reciprocal and comfort seeking relationship patterns. DDP is a therapeutic model that involves the parents working with the therapist to support their child. The involvement of the parent is essential to a positive outcome from DDP.
