- 6 x 90 minute sessions (fortnightly)- Each session is 2 x 35 minute training periods separated by 1 x 20 minute discussion and breakout period
- Hosted on MS Teams. You do not need an MS Teams account, you can join each meeting on a web-browser
- You will be emailed the link and materials two days before the session
- You will be sent a link to the video recording after each session

Session 1 – Creating a positive team climate (14th August 2024)
- Understand the impact of a positive team climate
- Learn to recognise the symptoms of a poor climate
- Recognise the main differences between good and poor climates
- Understand the scope of your team’s climate in the context of your organisation
- Understand the six drivers of team climate
- Consider at least one response to each driver
- Understand the extra team climate challenges of a virtual team
- Develop a game plan to lift your team’s climate
- (Post session) Complete a personal or team climate assessment
Session 2 – Using different leadership styles (28th August 2024)
- Understand the link between leadership styles and team climate
- Learn the nature of the six main leadership styles
- Discover when and where each style is and isn’t effective
- Understand generational responses to leadership styles
- Learn how to improve each leadership style
- Understand which leadership styles to adopt to lift each team climate dimension
- Understand what leadership styles are needed for transformational leadership
- (Post session) – Complete a leadership style assessment – your and your team’s perspectives
Session 3 – Building your influence (11th September 2024)
- Realise the difference between formal and informal influence
- Understanding the role of informal influence
- Learn how to use 6 principles of informal influence
- Understand how to influence with integrity
- Learn how to use the principle of reciprocation
- Understand and use the 5 types of influence currency
- Using your understanding of informal influence in your organisation to build an influence game plan
- (Post session) – Create and implement an influencing plan
Session 4 – Increasing Motivation (25th September 2024)
- Consider the range of diversity in team members
- Understand the 5 main drivers of motivation
- Learn how to redesign people’s roles to suit their interests and skills
- Understand the range and order of personal needs people need to satisfy
- Learn how to make goals more motivating
- Understand how to help team members feel that they are being treated fairly
- Learn how to use rewards to motivate people
- Understand the general difference in motivational approaches in the 5 generations
- (Post session) – Complete a personal job map and consider getting your team to also do it
Session 5 – Coaching for Performance (9th October 2024)
- Understand where coaching fits in the performance management process
- Learn the 4 essential aspects of coaching
- Learn how to use 7 essential skills for coaching
- Learn how to actively listen
- Understanding how to improve your diagnostic skills
- Learn how to use a questioning sequence
- Understand how to give and receive feedback
- Learn to use the GROW coaching model
- Understanding when and how to micromanage

Session 6 - Team Organisation (23rd October 2024)
- Understanding the 5 essentials of a functional team
- Learn how to create a RACI Chart
- Learn how to use a RACI chart to improve processes and communication
- Learn how to delegate effectively
- Understand the range of potential types of team goals
- Understand how to set team and individual SMART goals
- Learn how to lead effective meetings and discussions
