ZZMike Rudd and George Butrumlis play the Athenaeum Library
About
Mike Rudd and George Butrumlis play the Athenaeum Library with pared down / alternative versions of songs from Rudd’s Old Testament, Newish Testament and almost Present Testament. The duo’s repertoire is drawn from the occasionally confronting, but always intriguing catalogue of songs penned by Mike (and his alter–ego My Crudd) from the early ‘70s to the present day.
Mike Rudd’s career has seen an evolution from a well-established prog-rock rock artist to singer/songwriter/raconteur playing accessible versions of his inimitable oeuvre with one of the best musicians around.
George Butrumlis is a piano accordion virtuoso who is a regular guest artist with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. He has played with everyone from the Black Sorrows to the Three Tenors. George Butrumlis is arguably Australia's finest piano accordionist, proficient in all of the many styles performed on this versatile instrument.
