About Face, the Gosford Junior Portrait Prize is an exciting opportunity for budding young artists from 5 to 17 years old to draw a portrait of someone special to them, demonstrate their drawing talent and compete for a prize pool of $1,000.
About your portrait subject
The portrait should be of a person who is special to you - someone who is known to you and plays a significant role in your life. We encourage you to draw the portrait ‘from life’ and that your subject has a ‘sitting’ for their portrait.
Judging
The competition will be judged by artist Jocelyn Maughan and the Gallery Curator based on observational drawing merit and originality. First, second and third prizes will be awarded in each category. Each prize winner will receive a giftcard courtesy of the Jocelyn Maughan Art Foundation and Star 104.5 FM
