Writing with Declan Fry
About
From Frantz Fanon and Aime Cesaire to Can Xue and Michelle Tea, Henry James and Cynthia Ozick to James Baldwin and McKenzie Wark, writing has served as both a tool for change and a mirror of the world as it exists β a way of representing the world and responding to it.ββIn this workshop we will look at essay and fiction forms, how they operate and how we convey ideas in writing. In a time of endless information, writing allows us to elaborate upon an idea, to spend time with it, and to allow it to change us, sometimes indelibly. We capture moments in time and in place. In so doing we make it possible for others to encounter them, too. These second lives have the potential to become the second lives of others.
