About
Join us on a fun day building your very own CFT worm Farm valued at $175! Plus learn how these wigglers are great for the soil microbially, chemically and structurally PLUS reduces food waste!
Jeff Quigley, commercial worm farmer & Warrell Creek Worms owner, will guide us through how to make a portable CFT Bin plus your bin will be populated with a healthy population of compost worms to get you started.
What is a CFT Worm Farm?
Continuous Flow Through worm farms have a distinct advantage when it comes to harvesting worm castings as they avoid the task or separating the worms & cocoons from the worm compost. Food is added to the top of the bin where the worms live and feed and worm castings are harvested via an easy-open door at the base of the worm farm. Plus this particular design is portable and easily moved as its on wheels!
Students will use a simple drill and hole saw with the guidance of Jeff. The session is family friendly but we ask kids are accompanied by an adult.
