Salty Sessions: Shanty
Heave away, haul away, and sail into the South Australian Maritime Museum for our second Salty Sessions event – Shanty! Raise a glass, raise your voice, and partake in the maritime tradition of sea shanties.
Learn and perform a sea shanty or two, under the expert guidance of the Adelaide Male Voice Choir and explore the Museum with a music-themed trail.
Hear from Anne Mathews, graduate of the Elder Conservatorium of Music, about the history of shanties and her own composition ‘South Australian Seas’, which is now being performed during the statewide Primary Schools’ Music Festival.
Enjoy delicious treats from the historic Mayfair Bakery and Patisserie, including a specially created rum and meat pie (included in ticket price). Liquid courage provided by Mad Monkey Distillery (non-alcoholic beverages will also be available).
Tickets include food only, drinks purchased separately.
