Guanaco Trio (Argentina)
Based out of Buenos Aires, Argentina, the Guanaco Trio brings together three musicians from three different continents in an exploration of the folkloric music of Argentina. Featuring Australian bandoneonist Owen Salomé and Laura Urteaga (Catalunya/Argentina) on violin, and Benjamín Aedo (Chile) on guitar, the trio's repertoire consists of new original compositions and original interpretations of the contemporary folkloric music of ArgentinA. In their first tour to Australia, the group will be presenting their debut album, “Bajo Un Mismo Cielo (Under the Same Sky)”, a record of the first repertoire that they came together to practise and perform during the trio's formation in 2020. Come and see how the trio's modern harmonies reinterpret their shared love of Argentina's traditional, folk music in a contemporary spin that also preserves "la tierra adentro" - the sound of the land inside, within this musical culture. Performing in Sydney for one night only.
