Accelerate! Strings 2024
About
Accelerate! Strings is UWA’s elite training program designed for Violin, Viola, Cello and Double Bass players in years 10-12 who are looking to take their performance skills to the next level.
Participants have the opportunity to work closely with acclaimed educator Suzanne Wijsman and Simon Lee Foundation Musician in Residence and Concertmaster of the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra Shaun Lee-Chen.
The program will include workshops and masterclasses where participants will receive expert individualised input on performance, performance skills and general musicianship. Ideally timed for those undertaking ATAR Music or preparing for University auditions – don't miss this opportunity to get expert feedback from leading practitioners!
Places are strictly limited and entry is via application and recorded audition.
Application Deadline: 31 May
Audition Process: Applicants will be invited to send in a recorded audition, with 2 contrasting pieces (no more than 3 minutes each). Applicants should also submit a one-page CV with musical achievements, school, current teacher, approximate AMEB level and how long they have been playing.
Fridays 26 Jul, 2, 9, 16 Aug 2024| 4.30-6.30pm*
*Participants should be available to atend all 4 sessions.
