Brisbane Chamber Choir: Wayfaring
2024 Concert Three
Brisbane Chamber Choir, directed by Graeme Morton, succumb to the wandering spirit as music of Australia and Singapore intertwine in this unique concert. Hear local composers Joseph Twist and Paul-Antoni Bonetti alongside emerging Singaporean composers. With special guest conductor Dr Shahril Salleh this mix of musical ideas is sure to inspire.
The two local works for choir, string orchestra, and percussion were commissioned by Brisbane Chamber Choir in 2009 to celebrate the sesquicentenary (150th anniversary) of the separation of Queensland from New South Wales which established the Colony of Queensland in 1859, and later became the State of Queensland as part of the Federation of Australia in 1901.
