After a soul-stirring performance at Johnston Street Jazz in October, long-time collaborators Virna Sanzone and Kevin Hunt return for a gospel-infused musical exploration that will draw repertoire from an eclectic mix of genres.
Widely recognised as one of Australia’s most captivating jazz and soul vocalists, Virna Sanzone is known for her passionate delivery and remarkable improvisational approach, whether breathing new life into much-loved standards or effortlessly reinventing little-known gems. Aside from regular performances under her own name, Virna has worked with an impressive list of Australian greats, including Paul Grabowsky, Paul Kelly and Tina Arena to name a few. Tonight Virna joins forces with one of Sydney’s most esteemed pianists, Kevin Hunt.
