Get Out Ya Head!
About
A Workshop Prioritising Connection, Presence, and Improv JoyJump in and explore techniques and exercises aimed at getting you out of your head and into your scene in a fun and practical workshop. We will prioritise presence and create meaningful connection with our scene partners, and see how this leads us to relaxing into our scenes and finding improv joy on stage.
By the end you’ll have not only had a great time, but picked up several tools to help you when you find
yourself stuck in your head on the side of the stage.
NOTE: Open to anyone who has completed two terms of instruction with On The Fly, or equivalent. Not sure if that includes you? Get in touch!
BIO
Emilia Higgs
Meet Emilia, or as she's affectionately known, Millie, a Sydney based actor, improvisor, and singer. Her love for variety is so strong, it's practically spelled out in her two names. From teaching primary school children drama to cracking up kids during photoshoots as a clown, and even holding down a 'serious' gig as an art curatorial intern at the Peggy Guggenheim Museum, Emilia dives towards skills and experiences that promise instant access to instinct, joy, and wonder – qualities that effortlessly spill into her performances and teaching.
Emilia's education spans from Commedia dell’Arte training in Italy, a mix of Meisner, Stanislavski, and Shakespeare practices at NIDA and countless theatresports and improvisational workshops, Second City and The Upright Citizens Brigade being amongst the providers.
