About
This two day workshop is aimed at practitioners who work with children, young people and families in the context of supporting and/or treating mental ill health. It is suitable for Psychologists, Social Workers, Clinical Nurses, Occupational Therapists and speech Pathologists, Counsellors, child protection and NGO workers who are working with their clients to support recovery from mental ill health. This workshop will provide participants a structure to deliver core skills in mental health assessment, formulation, and recovery planning in a brief therapy framework. Participants will develop a deeper understanding and practical skills through an experiential oriented process through workshopping and discussing of clinical scenarios.The workshop will cover:
• mental health assessment skills
• Formulation and diagnosis and it’s relevance to treatment planning
• Treatment planning
• The application of Brief therapy framework in mental health care.

Trainers
Raymond Ho
Raymond Ho is an accredited clinical and Mental Health social worker, Clinical Family Therapist and Certified Gottman Therapist. He has over 30 years of clinical experiences providing psychotherapy to individual, couples and families in public and private mental health sectors and has been providing systemic clinical supervision and training to mental health professionals in Australia and overseas for many years. In recent years, Raymond has been integrating clinical hypnosis, Gottman method of couple therapy and mentalisation into his psychotherapy and systemic/family therapy practice. He is an supervisor and trainer in mentalisation based treatment for families (MBT-F) and Adaptive Mentalization Based Integrated Treatment (AMBIT).
Renee Kay
Renee is a Registered Psychologist and Clinical Family Therapist (AAFT) with 18 years experience working with children, youth and families with ill mental health. Renee has worked in senior clinical and leadership roles in Child and Youth Mental health Health services and runs a private practice clinic.
