Duty of care Town Hall
We're at risk of becoming the first generation in human history that will leave the world a worse place than we found it.
We have a duty of care to make sure our children and grandchildren can live as we have. Unfortunately, due to decades of inaction by successive governments, Australia is dragging its feet on climate change.
Thanks to the powerful fossil fuel industry, Australia is still approving new coal mines, letting multinational gas companies pay next to no tax, and failing to bring down electricity prices by transitioning to a cleaner, cheaper economy.
Join climate campaigner and student Anjali Sharma, Dr Monique Ryan MP and Zoe Daniel MP for this special town hall. Anjali has led the campaign for a Duty of Care Act – a new idea that would require the government to consider the effects its decisions have on future generations.
