Connect with the fascinating stories of early Yass Valley residents, such as explorer Hamilton Hume, pastoralist AB Triggs and victims of the evil William Munday. Share their triumphs, secrets and scandals while strolling amongst their headstones, then enjoy a delicious Devonshire Tea in the grounds of historic Cliftonwood overlooking the Yass River.This guided walking tour which lasts approximately 90 minutes will be conducted by volunteers from the Yass & District Historical Society.
The privately owned Cliftonwood homestead (built for explorer Hamilton Hume) is located off Irvine Drive, just a short self-drive from the cemetery. Keep an eye out for signage at the front gate.
Please note: the ground at the cemetery is uneven and not suitable for strollers or those with mobility issues. Please wear sturdy footwear and bring sun protection and water.
Toilets are not available at the cemetery, but you will have access to one at the homestead during afternoon tea.
