MATEs present...How Bard Can It Get? (SOLD OUT)
Originally called ‘Acting Up’, the Mission Arts Theatre Ensemble (MATEs) was formed in 2019 to allow people in the Cassowary Coast area access to a variety of theatrical experiences. In 2021, the group was conceptually expanded into an ensemble to extend the original vision and provide a clear direction for the group. ‘Ensemble’ style theatre groups have a shared focus which is collaboratively devised and expressed through its operations and productions. In the case of MATEs, that focus is on ‘local’. Without being too restrictive, the ensemble looks to offer the Cassowary Coast community local content created and produced by local people.
