Chamber Music in a New Mix
Peter Hagen's new series of three chamber music concerts diverges from his usual harpsichord and one other instrument and includes two other wildly different concerts spanning music across four centuries.
Rosemary Hodgson on lute plays Elizabethan repertoire from her recently released CD and the Orpheus Piano Trio performs early Romantic trios by Beethoven and Mendelssohn. In the middle is an 18th century programme with Meredith Beardmore on flute and Peter Hagen playing harpsichord with obbligato parts instead of the more usual figured bass accompaniment.
All concerts are on Sundays at 4.00pm lasting for around one hour in the intimate concert hall of Peter Hagen set in a bush peaceful retreat just out of Broadford in Central Victoria.
1 September - Sixteenth century lute pieces around the theme of Walsingham and more
13 October - Flute and harpsichord Scheibe, Telemann, CPE Bach Music for flute and obbligato harpsichord from the 18th century.
24 November - Orpheus piano trio performing Beethoven and Mendelssohn.
