Maria Meakin is a Meanjin, Brisbane based children's author. She is a mother to 4 and has worked with children of all ages as a Teacher Aide. She champions and brings to the forefront understanding around transgender and non-binary identities with compassion.Maria's book Being Me was released in February 2024 telling the heartfelt story of one child finding the courage to align their outward appearance with their gender identity.
