Indigenous Bee Hotels with Bianca Easton and Rooftop Bees

Join Boon Wurrung woman and maker Bianca Easton in an immersive afternoon of learning, making and tasting. Come to explore the needs and characteristics of Indigenous bees, and work to create a safe space for these wandering insects.Working with natural, sustainable and recycled materials - kids will make a functional, eco-friendly and creative object . As well as a sampling of honey!
We will also meet with the people from Rooftop Bees who look after the hives of honey bees on the roof of Fed Square. They will talk to us about the difference between their bees and our Indigenous bees - and about how both are important to our local environments.

Workshop suitable for kids 5+
All kids must be supervised and assisted by an adult.
Tin cans and bamboo can be potentially sharp.
If you or your child have a honey allergy, we recommend not attending.
