How do personal values impact Teacher Wellbeing?
About
The School of Education is delighted to invite you to a Twilight Seminar: How do personal values impact Teacher Wellbeing?
Dr Trish Collins will help you to identify the underlying personal values (i.e., motivational goals) that are most and least important to you, how they impact your daily life and how they help/hinder you get along with other people/children in and out of the classroom.
In this seminar, you will:
- Identify the personal values that are most and least important to you;
- Learn about the conflicts and compatibilities in values theory and how these compatible and opposing values will help you be more understanding of the people who drive you crazy as well as why your friends are your friends;
- Learn how to identify and have more understanding of other people’s personal values in your work environments to enable you to work better not only with those with similar values but also with those with opposing values; and
- Learn to identify and understand the children in your class who have values that are opposing your own.
Registrations and light refreshments will be from 3:30pm, in the Building 17 foyer.
Certificate of participation available on request.
