North Coast Regional Seed Bank - Seed Collection Apps
This workshop will provide an overview of how to use the free smartphone Apps iNaturalist and Handy GPS when collecting native seed.
The North Coast Regional Seed Bank has been set up to collect local native seed to supply restoration projects - including koala food and habitat plantings. Through the seed bank a north-east hub has been established that covers the Tweed, Byron and Ballina Shires.
This event will provide introductory training in the free smart phone apps iNaturalist and Handy GPS that will help with identify and recording seed trees, and coordinate seed collection efforts.
Workshop will include an outdoor component please wear enclosed shoes, long pants, long sleeve shirt and broad brimmed hat and bring water.
