WAAPA Creating Physical Theatre Workshop in Busselton
About
Physical theatre relies on the creative use of performers’ bodies to express ideas, to tell stories and to ‘speak’ in ways that only physical and visual storytelling can do.Physical theatre draws on elements of choreography and visual storytelling that is different from text-based theatre. It elevates the body’s unique capacity to express ideas, character, story and emotion.
This workshop will explore some of the specific ways physical theatre practitioners such as Rudolf Laban, Anne Bogart and Tina Landau;
a) generate ideas and movement material through physical devising and improvisation and
b) how they then organise or structure that material into a performance.
This workshop is aimed at providing professional development for High School Teachers and for members of the public including actors, directors and writers who may be interested.
This event is proudly sponsored by the City of Busselton.
