Challenge accepted: overcoming barriers to delivering civics education
The Parliament of South Australia invites you to attend the annual Australasian Parliamentary Educators Conference in Adelaide, SA. The theme for 2024 is Challenge Accepted - Overcoming Barriers to Delivering Civics Education.
The conference will focus on the different barriers parliamentary, electoral and related education officers face when planning, delivering and promoting programs – with workshops and activities to consider possible solutions.
The conference will include guest speakers, panel discussions with Members of Parliament, interactive workshops and networking opportunities.
The conference registration fee is $400 + GST. This includes:
Day 1: morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea
Day 2: morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, conference dinner
Day 3: morning tea, formal lunch in the Speaker’s Dining Room
The conference commences at 8.30am on 10 December 2024 and will conclude at 2.45pm on 12 December 2024.
Registrations close 11 October 2024.

Australasian Parliamentary Educators are professional educators from Australian, New Zealand and Pacific parliaments, as well as other civics organisations, who are committed to supporting public understanding of parliamentary processes and democracy.
Australasian Parliamentary Educators aim to engage citizens with the history, role and functions of parliament. Through active learning programs, resources and community engagement, they support teachers, students and the general public in teaching and learning about civics and citizenship.
Australasian Parliamentary Educators meet annually to share experiences, and build their capability, knowledge and skills in delivering parliamentary education.
