The Seymour Railway Heritage Centre invites you on a Heritage Train Ride in historic 1937 air conditioned carriages over the weekend of 5th & 6th of October, 2024.
On Saturday, ride the train to Murtoa from Horsham at 9am to attend the Murtoa Big Weekend activities including the Murtoa Races. The alternative is to ride the train to Beulah and enjoy a seated 3 course long table lunch. Boarding stations include Horsham, Murtoa and Warracknabeal. The trip also includes a stop to view the stunning silo art at Sheep Hills. The long table lunch menu is:
Entree: Pumpkin & Wattleseed Ravioli or Bush foccacia
Main: Coorong Mullet with Saltbush or Lamb backstrap with Quandong
Dessert: Sunrise Lime Cheesecake or Wattleseed Sticky Date Pudding with sauce & icecream
On Sunday, join us for a ride from Horsham, along the little used line to Rainbow and return. We stop at Dimboola and Jeparit before arriving at Rainbow in time for lunch. We arrive back in Horsham around 5.15pm. We also take the opportunity to view the silo art at Arkona on our return to Horsham. You can choose to depart at Dimboola or Jeparit for lunch (at your own expense) and then catch the train on its return journey.Your lunch options at Rainbow include lunch at Eureka Hotel (available to purchase with your train fare), BYO lunch or organise your own lunch in Rainbow.
Activities in Jeparit include lunch at Larrikins Pub, vist the Wimmera-Mallee Pioneer Museum (cost - $10 per adult, family $20). Activities in Raibow include visiting Yurunga Homestead - a short walk from the town cenre for a guided tour and talk about the history of the area. Cost $10 per adult and children $7. For people boarding/disembarking at the silo art stops, you need to be able to use stairs with handrails as we will not be using a platform.
Please note - there are no booked seats for any of our shuttles but you must pre-purchase a ticket for all journeys. You can choose your own seat on the day - there will be ample opportunity to explore the train on your journey.
