IWCB Presents: INDUSTRY & INVENTION
Join us for a program of musical works inspired by and made possible by human ingenuity through the ages!
We are thrilled to feature If A.I. Could Dream by Australian composer Sally Greenaway!
Look back in time with Thomas Doss's bright concert march Galileo, dedicated to the Italian polymath, and the second movement of Joseph Haydn's Trumpet Concerto — a composition made possible by the invention of the keyed trumpet.
Brian Balmages's Industrial Loops is inspired by the rhythms of factory machinery. Alex Shapiro's Tight Squeeze integrates a pre-recorded track into the performance.
We are delighted to present Leroy Anderson's comedic classic for writing machine and orchestra, The Typewriter.
This concert will also feature film music from Jurassic Park (John Williams), Back to the Future (Alan Silvestri) and Sherlock Holmes (Hans Zimmer)!
