Improv Musical Comedy Course (CANCELLED)

Learn improvised singing from Australia's festival favourite, Impromptunes! In this 8-week workshop series (including an optional showcase), participants will learn the magic of making up songs and scenes on the spot through fun activities, games and exercises. Get a foundation in quick rhyming, song structures, and creating melodies and song lyrics that will stick!

The course culminates in a showcase for friends and family on September 19th (optional).

Spots are limited, so don't just think about it - take the plunge! It's much more fun than it is scary. Whether you're new to improv, or musical improv, or if you just want to brush up your skills with the best in the biz, this is the course for you. The course is run by improv veteran and creater of the Impromptunes Podcast, Morgan Phillips, who, in addition to being one of Australia's top musical improvisers, is a tertiary trained musical theatre performer and professional musical director - so you are in safe hands! In a feedback focused model, Morgan tailors the experience to work with the group and individuals at their level. Morgan creates a safe and positive learning environment to foster boldness and risk-taking.

Course Dates

Thursday nights each week from 1st August to 19th September, 2024. 

7:00 - 9:00pm (or up to 9.30pm dependent on group size)

The Alex Theatre, 1/135 Fitzroy St, St Kilda 3182 (The Studio). N.B. This will change for three dates, which will be advised to the group in advance.
