Celebrating NAIDOC Week at ECU South West
Join Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Regional Futures), Professor Cobie Rudd, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Students, Equity and Indigenous), Professor Braden Hill, in celebration of NAIDOC Week and launch of First Nations artwork by Sharyn Egan into the renovated Student Hub, ECU South West. Clothilde Bullen, acclaimed Wardandi and Badimaya curator, writer and advocate, will share her insights about the installation on behalf of artist, Sharyn Egan. Clothilde joined ECU in November 2023, and is the inaugural Lead, Cultural Strategy and Development in the Office of Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Students, Equity and Indigenous).
NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to come together to celebrate the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
This year's National NAIDOC theme Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud celebrates the unyielding spirit of our First Nations communities and invites all to stand in solidarity, amplifying the voices that have long been silenced.
It calls for a reclamation of narratives, an amplification of voices, and an unwavering commitment to justice and equality.
Edith Cowan University is proud to celebrate this year’s theme.
