Having a Will is very important. It ensures the people who matter most in your life are taken care of. Without a Will, your estate is distributed according to a legal formula. This might mean your assets don’t end up being distributed according to your wishes.
That’s why The Salvation Army’s Wills Days are so important.
We would be grateful if you would please consider leaving a financial Gift (bequest) in your Will to The Salvation Army to help us support those most in need in our community. Thank you

FAQs:
How does it work?
Generous and local Solicitors assist the community by donating their time & expertise to prepare a Simple Will. A Simple Will, for example, is one that leaves the person’s entire estate to their spouse or to their children, equally, without a trust; does not have overseas investments or beneficiaries; or is not a complicated estate matter. The Solicitor will be able to advise whether your Will is simple, and if not, they will advise you and you may have to pay an additional cost to have it written.
-
The cost for a Simple Will is $100 per person or $150 per couple (spouse/defacto), plus online booking fee of $0.50. These proceeds are donated to The Salvation Army.
-
The appointment is with a qualified Solicitor who will review your completed Client Information form and ask for any additional information.
-
Duration of appointments are 30 minutes. You don't get the Will on the day. You will meet at the Solicitor's office usually a few weeks later, to sign the document and receive a copy of your Will.
Do I need to bring ID with me?
Yes, please bring proof of identification (Current Drivers licence, passport, etc) and your printed and completed Client Information form available to download and print here: Client Information Form

Can I appoint The Salvation Army as the Executor of my estate?
The Salvation Army are not able to be nominated as Executor to your estate. It is best to choose a family member, trusted friend or sometimes, the solicitor may agree to act in this capacity.
