Denbigh Open Weekend
Denbigh Open Garden and Studios
Denbigh, one of Australia's oldest working farms (circa 1812) is listed on the State Heritage Register as 'sited in a very rare and intact early colonial landscape of great beauty and integrity, and is of exceptional cultural significance'. Denbigh's serenity and charm come from its being encircled by hills and a remarkable cluster of convict built farm buildings. The stone stables, coach house, hand milking cow bails, calf shed, storage silos, slab barns and timber haysheds reflect the evolution of farming practices in Australia.
The current custodians, Ian and Susie McIntosh, are opening the garden and outbuildings over two days in Spring 2024. Visit the pottery and woodworking studios, the new gallery and hayshed cafe and enjoy a walk in the paddocks.
The aim is to raise money for FOSTER A POTTER (FOPO). Commencing in 2025, FOPO will fund pathways for experienced ceramicists to share their skills with emerging potters, in return for valuable assistance in the day-to-day running of their studio practice - thus forming an essential part of a healthy diversity in educational options in Australian ceramics.
Entrance Ticket $15 - all proceeds to FOSTER A POTTER
Children aged 5-15 $5
Children under 5 free
