Learn techniques for making a very decent apertivo/mocktail from everyday fruit and veg. We’ll be talking about the centuries old skills of fruit preserving and vinegar based drinks, called Shrubs, that are the new trend in non alcoholic drinks. Come to the workshop to sample some favourite flavours hand made by our tutor, Mick. Also covering protein shakes, and expert kitchen hacks for the person on the go, who likes healthy and natural tastes.
2. A few words about Love

Ever wanted to write a novel but don't know how to get started? Romantasy author Bernadette Rowley leads you on a plotting journey. This class is an interactive guide to plotting your romance novel, whether it be contemporary, fantasy or historical fiction.
During the class you'll learn how Bernadette got started on her author journey and take a peek into her fantasy world. Feel free to ask all the questions you've wanted to ask an author. And you can pick up an autographed copy of one of Bernadette's eleven published novels.
3. Dream big - how to tackle a special crochet piece for you or your home.
Presenter - Kim Siebenhausen

Confused by patterns and written instructions? Despondent about an unfinished crochet project? Get tips from our local crochet guru who has done it all. Kim’s speciality is intricate patterns with the interplay of colour, but she also knows how to build and structure dramatic blankets and big throws. We’ll talk colours, fibres and shapes, so you’ll know how start and finish that special project you’ve been dreaming of, and head off problems before they arise. If you have a crochet project that has gone off track, you are welcome to bring it in for a troubleshooting session.

Take time out for some creativity, and see what you come up with in our afternoon paint and sip (mulled wine!) classes. Tuition and tips, to channel your inspiration and style. Guided painting by popular artist, Pat Van Kempen, to ensure you go home with a work that shows your own personal touch. Even if you’ve never picked up a brush, enjoy a fun and relaxing immersion class that might uncover your inner artist. Meet other Jumpers and Jazz visitors over a spicy and warming glass or two of mulled wine. Afternoon classes 2 - 4pm, Wed, Thur, Friday.

7. Christmas in July Wreath making

If you love the look of a hand made wreath, step inside our how-to floristry class. Learn how to find materials, what shapes and looks work best, and how to get a long lasting look for your Christmas living room or table. Outdoor and indoor versions, fresh or dried, traditional or rustic. Ideas and inspiration from a local contemporary flower painter and arranger, Lisa Weier. Tips on using commercial floristry supplies, as well as home garden materials. There will be ideas to use right now, or get in early for the real thing in December. Floristry themed books from Lisa’s curated book collection for sale.
8. Mosaics in unusual places
Presenter - Susan Shaw

Be amazed at the transformation of a cement trough into a garden centre piece. Mosaic inspiration for your garden comes from local grazier Susan Shaw, who shape shifts her paintings into three dimensional landscape art, creating drifts of iris, daisy and dahlias from recycled china and tiles. Cracked plates and discarded ceramics are Susan’s raw materials, as she upcycles their random colours and shapes into garden art. Learn how to listen to the call of artistic expression from the Susan’s crazy paved artistic journey.
9. Sing like nobody is listening

Are you naturally a high or low singer? Not sure?? Come along to harmony singing 101, and learn how to join in group singing without embarrassing yourself at Karoke, or getting rude looks when singing the National Anthem. Our experienced singers will listen to your voice, and show you how to get the best out of your tonsils - even if you think you can’t sing! You’ll be learning a song and singing together as a group. Beginners especially, but anyone who likes group singing, will feel very comfortable in this fun and relaxed musical get together.
10. The Power of a Flower
Presenter - Lyn Bryson & Tanya Knight

This is a floristry workshop for the home gardener. We’ll be talking about harnessing the beauty of your garden for hand-made arrangements at home - table settings, vases and arrangements, or a bunch of flowers as a gift. Learn tricks with shapes and colour to give you a professional look at home. Ideas for handling foliage, buds and full blooms, with flair. Also tricks for maximizing the life of your arrangements: the right time to pick, what plants make the best cut flowers, and how to extend the life of your delicate blossoms. Bring in an armful or a posy of your own cut flowers, and see them turned into a professional arrangement.
