Tania Nichamin
Wollongong’s own singer-songwriter Tania Nichamin has had a whirlwind year following the independent release of "THIS IS OUR LOVE SONG" in January 2023. The single quickly soared to #1 on the iTunes singer/songwriter charts and #5 across all genres on iTunes. This rapid success caught the attention of major media outlets, leading to TV interviews on A Current Affair, and numerous radio and press interviews both locally and nationally.
Wasting no time, Tania began writing and recording her second single, "BIGGEST HEART," an ode to her father, Shane Nichamin, a two-time Golden Guitar nominee. Released on March 29, 2023, the song received national airplay and was featured on Apple Music’s “Aussie Country” playlist. Following her father's passing from leukemia in May, Tania is more determined than ever to continue his legacy of creating great country music.
Her third single, 'LORRAINE,' was released on September 4, 2023. This marked Tania's directorial debut, as she also produced the haunting and visually stunning cinematic music video for the song, which premiered in October. 'LORRAINE' narrates the story of a woman trapped in an abusive relationship who, through a twist of fate, is liberated when her husband is murdered, freeing her from years of torment.
In January 2024, Tania graduated from the Academy of Country Music in Tamworth and performed at Toyota Country Music Festival main stage with her fellow graduates. She is currently rehearsing with a full band in preparation for live shows. Tania is set to return to the studio with producer Michael Carpenter to work on her upcoming debut EP, featuring co-writes with Kevin Bennett (KB and the Flood) and fellow Academy graduate Cody Walker, as well as new material co-written with Anthony Snape since her return home.
Tania Nichamin is in the studio currently recording her debut EP which is to be released in January 2025 Tamworth Country music festival. Her new single “SUNSETS” is due out early August. For what is set to be a huge 2024 for Tania, with festivals already snapping her up for shows. To avoid disappointment to see Tanya and her full band grab your tickets now before they sell out.
