Animals Are Beautiful People is a 1974 South African nature documentary written, produced, directed, filmed and edited by Jamie Uys who also made Gods Must Be Crazy. Its about the wildlife in Southern Africa, presented with comedic elements. It was filmed in the Namib Desert, Kalahari Desert and at the Okavango River and Okavango Delta and won the 1974 Golden Globe Award for Best Documentary Film.The film is set to classical music, especially well know pieces for some scenes including "Brahms Hungarian Dance No. 5" with acrobatic baboons
Tchaikovsky's "Waltz of the Flowers", showing the miracle of the blooming desert, Tchaikovsky's "Dance of the Reed Flutes" and many more.
This is a fundraiser for "Set for Life Australia" who support access to healthcare and education for Yiben and 17 neighboring communities in a remote region of Koinadugu in northern Sierra Leone.
Doors open 2pm. Movie starts at 2.30 with an introduction. Food will be available.
