Botanical Cyanotype for beginners - July 2024

A cyanotype is effectively a blueprint. In addition to using film negatives and positives, plant material and a host of other 3 dimensional flat objects can be used to create interesting and artistic images and marks on paper, fabric and a range of surfaces able to absorb the light-sensitive chemical solution. During this workshop participants will learn how to print botanical images onto surfaces pre-prepared with Cyanotype solution. In this workshop, attendees will develop an assortment of Cyanotype prints on photo paper, fabric, watercolour paper, and Stonehenge paper. Learn how to extend your Cyanotype prints by drawing into them with pen, ink and watercolours. This process is a wonderful tool in any artist's toolkit of mediums to extend & fuse with their art practice and can be achieved without having to purchase a whole new range of art products!
