The Melbourne Veena Festival has emerged as a dynamic celebration of the mesmerising world of veena music. Veena is an ancient and sacred stringed instrument from South India. Day 2 of the event showcases local Australian talent as well as a full length concert of the mother and daughter duo Emani Kalyani Lakshminarayana and Padmini Pasumarthy, who hail from the rich Andra tradition of veena playing.
