Set in the 1930s, amidst the backdrop of Sri Lanka’s struggle for independence from British rule, the Veddhas live in tune with nature, unaware of the storm brewing beyond the trees. As the nation fights for freedom, the Veddhas face an unseen enemy—the Gal Oya project, a symbol of progress by Western standards that ruthlessly uproots their lives.
Displaced from their ancestral homes, the Veddhas are thrust into a world of foreign customs, their identities eroded by the tides of colonialism. In their despair, they call upon their spirits for guidance, their cries echoing through time.
