Helen Shanahan and Lucky Oceans join forces to play Helen's original tunes, with vocal legend Matt Allen on backing vocals. Combining Lucky's legendary musical versatility and Helen's contemporary folk/pop songwriting, they create a captivating and dynamic musical experience.Helen Shanahan is a Perth-based folk/pop singer-songwriter. A WAAPA graduate, she won the 2018 WAM Song of the Year and has supported artists like Tim Minchin and Jackson Browne. Her albums, including 2022's "Canvas," have earned critical acclaim. In 2024, she supported Peter Garrett and wrote for Vika and Linda Bull.
Lucky, born in Philadelphia in 1951, co-founded Asleep at the Wheel, winning 2 Grammy Awards. A master of multiple styles, he hosted ABC RN's Daily Planet for 21 years. Lucky has played with legends like Eric Clapton and Willie Nelson, and is known for innovating on the pedal steel guitar.
