He will be discussing how new technologies are providing insights into the molecular basis of the ribosomopathy Shwachman-Diamond syndrome (SDS), including addressing the following questions:
• How does a germline ribosome assembly defect associated with impaired stem cell fitness drive evolution to blood cancer?
• Can we harness these insights to improve risk stratification and develop personalised medicine approaches in SDS and inherited marrow failure disorders more generally?
