Have you ever wanted to learn how to fight with a sword?
Kids & Teens classes teach the fundamentals of historical fencing to students between 7 and 17 years old.
In classes for teens ( ages 11 - 17 ), students learn how to wield a sword safely using plastic, or steel fencing swords. We do this by practicing defensive and offensive techniques, and by fencing each other with foam swords. Students also have the opportunity to fence with steel swords when appropriate.
In our kids classes (ages 7 - 10 ), students learn how to wield a sword safely using foam and wooden replica swords. They practice defensive and offensive techniques, and also learn the associated wrestling skills. Students will occasionally have the opportunity to work with steel swords when appropriate.
Learning swordfighting gives young people a chance to get physically active, to improve at a challenging skill and to work with other similarly geeky friends all in a welcoming, and inclusive environment.
