Heavenly Harmony
Perth Symphonic Chorus presents a program of exquisite choral music, sublime harmonies and soaring melodies designed to soothe and delight music lovers.
The program features Sir John Rutter's The Gift Of Life, a beautiful choral cycle, with six movements exploring the miracles of creation.
Other works in the concert include Brahms' Geistliches Lied (Sacred Song) set to text by Paul Flemming: 'Let nothing afflict you with grief; be calm! Why worry today about tomorrow?' and American composer Frank Ticheli's There Will Be Rest set to Sara Teasdale's poignant poem.
The choir will also be singing a new arrangement of art songs by the English composer Ivor Gurney titled Five Elizabethan Songs (1914): Spring, Under the Greenwood Tree, Tears, Orpheus, and Sleep.
