The use of fire spread prediction maps have become an important topic of interest for fire and emergency services agencies across Australia.In the September Hazardous Webinar, findings from interviews with residents in Victoria, NSW/ACT and Tasmania who recently experienced bushfires will be shared by Dr Erica Kuligowski, RMIT University and Dr Chloe Begg, Country Fire Authority.
Dr Kuligowski will present these insights’ impact on agencies’ predictive map design so that their understanding and use by people under threat is improved, protecting against injury and loss of life. Dr Begg will provide a sector view of maps and their use.
