The Friends of Kiama Library are thrilled to invite you to a talk with writer Lyn Hughes.Mr Carver's Whale is an historical novel with a contemporary twist.
Filled to the brim with books, journeys, whales, love, ghosts, desire and death, Mr Carver's Whale took Lyn on a thrilling decade-long journey from the tiny island of Pico in the Portuguese archipelago of Azores, to remotest Fogo Island off the east coast of Newfoundland, to Eden on the South Coast of New South Wales.
Lyn Hughes spent eighteen years in South Africa before settling in Australia in 1982. She is the author of the critically acclaimed novels, The Factory (1990), shortlisted for the National Book Council's New Writing Award, One Way Mirrors (1993), The Bright House (2000) and Flock (2012).
